The deal with Argentine men and their "girl" friends

That´s because women and girls don´t want young boys because they are bad lovers.

Sometime ago a female friend of mine (17) told me she was tired about the teenagers, that she should date older guys, finally she said: what are you waiting for invite me for dinner? I am 17 years older.

How old were you at that time?

Let´s clarify this subject.

I just mentioned this anecdote because I was explaining that sometimes are young girls who look for older man.

When this happend I was 30 and she was 17, however, I ignored her.

On the general topic of Argentine men and their girlfriends....

There seems to be a huge difference between the United States and Argentina in acceptable norms re: professor-student relationships. In the United States, a prof sleeping with a student is generally considered taboo. This taboo does not exist in Argentina.

I know a couple of part-time profs at one of the larger colleges that make up UBA who consider sleeping with students one of the "perks" of the job ( It sure isn't the money....but that's a subject for another thread).

Oh, the profs are 40'ish and the students are 20ish....to place my post in the context of the thread.
Same thing goes in in the work environment in AR. So I guess the college expedience is just part of the preparation for real world career building............? It is simply more accepted here. I wonder if these Profs grade on a curve?

The age of consent varies from country to country. Not counting islamic countries it is ranging from 13 to 18 (the latter is the age in that of the industrialised countries, which has the comparatively largest number of teenage pregnancies - oops!).

Claiming that your personal morale or the morale of your home country should be the standard of another country seems rather ridiculous.

Old men are not sexy either and need their viagra to pretend their young and virile . Pathetic as the women with the four facelifts and the blow up breasts.

Well, depends. I think this is a prejudice. I am a "young" milonguero. And I say young because I am only 34. The milonga (the place were tango is danced) is a very unique place because you find people since 17 to 90 socializing in the same level.

I can tell you that I have to compete for girls with milongueros 60 years old and they beat me almost always. We call it the embrace factor, regular people call it conection. Tango is all about conection.

That´s why I have so few prejudices regarding age differences.

Well put. Embrace the culture where you are planted rather than trying to impose the values of your country-of-origin. It makes for a happier life. We do not have to change our personal standards. All that is required is to respect cultural differences.

Well, it is all about that. Nobody is going to impose you our moral values. And that´s because we respect yours but we demand you respect ours. This is what Argentina is like nowadays. That´s why LGTB marriage is legal in this country. Who are we to tell somebody whom should he or she love? Or just have an affaire?

Regards

I have not looked in a while but I used to find some of the help wanted ads in La Nacion and Clarin amusing....to the effect of " Receptionist wanted. Must be between the ages of17-22 and super sexy. Typing a bonus, but not required." (I exaggerate but not much).

Try running an ad like that in Atlanta or LA.

Argentine social mores still suffer from machismo and racism inherited from the founding fathers. Perhaps over a few more decades, attitudes towards women (as well as other social ethics, e.g., "negra" work, tax evasion, acquiesence in the corruption of crooked politicians, and political mismanagement, etc) will mature and society will become more in tune with evolving (and more enlightened) cultural values, values that respect all people and honest civic conduct.
